Tasting Notes: Diamonds 9 Year Tennessee Whiskey, 100 Proof
COLOR: Deep amber with copper edges.
NOSE: Crème brûlée and caramelized sugar up front, backed by buttered cornbread and honey. Red raspberry candy and golden raisin sit underneath, with orange peel, marzipan and toasted oak. A touch of baking spice and old barn wood rounds it out.
PALATE: Medium-full and coating. Opens with brown sugar and vanilla custard, then apple and buttered popcorn. The midpalate turns darker - cola, sarsaparilla, dark cherry with clove and black pepper. The oak gives it structure without drying it out.
Finish: Medium-long. Toasted oak, cinnamon and a hint of coffee bean, fading into maple and caramel corn.
